Suggestions for the tours

Tramuntana mountains and Sa Calobra - 5 hours

This trip combines, tights curves, mountain passes and the famous descent to Sa Calobra. s. You'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean sea, the valley of Orient, el Torrent de Pareis, Sa Calobra, the fresh water lakes of Gorg Blau and Cuber and the valley of Soller.

We depart from Son Espanyol near Palma and head in the direction of Bunyola from where we start our climb to the Coll d'Honor, our first mountain pass at 550 meters. This beautiful road into the valley of Orient is quiet. Having it mostly to ourselves, you won't believe you are still on Mallorca. Coming out on the other end between the twin mountains we head up towards the castell de Alaró for a refreshment and beautiful views towards the east of the island. We now work our way towards Caimari where our climb into serious mountain territory starts. We continue to the viewpoint of the Torrent de Pareis. This canyon is world famous and the hike down should be on your bucketlist if you are somewhat adventurous. (Recommendable to do it with a guide, we can plan this excursion as well).
We continue on our bikes to the fork of Sa Calobra where a spectular scenic road going all the way down to sea level in only 12 km awaits us. We have to hit the sweet spot in traffic here, because it can be quite busy and you wouldn't believe the number of busses that go up and down this road (between April and October). Once we're almost back at the top, it's time for a stop and a typical Pamboli (Mallorcan sandwich). After lunch we continue south passing the two reservoir mountain lakes that supply Palma with drinking water and then after the Monnaber tunnel the Soller valley opens up in front of us. We head down this beautiful winding road. Depending on your appetite we now head back home through the straight 3km tunnel or by the old 50+hairpin old mountain road. It's up to you. Estimated time 5-6 hours.

The valley Orient, Port de Soller and the golden Triangle - 3 hours

This trip will take takes us into the Tramunta through the “Twin Mountains” believed to be a portal to a magical world. The scenery of the valley of Orient definitely is magical. Locked in by mountains all around it’s a remote area with little traffic. We get out of the valley through a small hairpin road that takes us to Bunyola, the last stop of the famous vintage train before it enters the train tunnel to Soller. This was the only “fast” connection with Soller between 1912 and 1997 when the road tunnel, that we will take, was built. On the other side we come out the valley of Soller and its harbor town Port de Soller where we’ll make a stop for a drink at sea level. From here we’ll follow the beautiful coast road south to pass the other two towns that form the golden triangle, Deia and Valldemossa on then back to our starting point near Palma. Along the way we´ll make short stops to enjoy the views, take photos.
